But I completely disagree with it being a &ldquo;disservice&rdquo;, I&rsquo;m glad my mom took me out of the school I was in with sexual predators and violence daily, education was not a priority there and it actually ended up getting shut down a few years later. I&rsquo;d happily take the annoyance of being surrounded by white kids over the pure terror of going to school each day. </p><p>Everyone has their own experiences and every parent has their own reasons. My mom did what was BEST for me and that decision is what set me up to be in the great position I&rsquo;m in now. I still had Black friends&hellip; the other Black kids who went to the school all flocked together naturally. Black culture didn&rsquo;t go anywhere&hellip; it was still there outside of school hours. I didn&rsquo;t have Black teachers tho&hellip; that&rsquo;s something I wish I had. The fact of the matter is&hellip; in my state, <i>county</i> schools have more and better programs to offer than <i>city</i> schools, it shouldn&rsquo;t be that way but it is. She has been given a five day police custody and it’s very possible that proper procedure wasn’t followed during her arrest. </p></blockquote><p>Can we please bring attention to the fact that they used a picture of Greta Thunberg to go with this article? And there&rsquo;s no art work on the discs either.
